Work to Start Soon on
Willows Grange Hall
Mary Lundell, Reporter
How well do you spell?
How well do you spell backwards?
Much amusement resulted from a
backwards spelling match at grange
last Saturday evening when the lec
turer, after having leaders choose
sides, pronounced words asking the
contestants to spell them backwards.
Prize winner was Dorothy Brady
with Kenneth Lundell a close sec
ond. " The deed and abstract to the prop
erty recently purchased by the
grange, have been turned to the com
mittee, the hiring of a carpenter
authorized, and preparation well
under way to begin work on the
new hall as soon as the rush of
farm work is over. A committee has
"been appointed to select the type of
Tauilding to be erected, and a report
will be made at the next meeting. At
that time a ballot will be taken af
fording patrons a voice in the selec
tion. Miss Dorothy Brady, Willows at
tendant to the Rodeo queen, made
a fine report on her trip to Portland
and St. Paul during the celebration.
The trip was sponsored by the Rodeo
association and Miss Brady expressed
much appreciation of the entertain
ment tendered them.
The Home Economics club will
meet at the home of Mrs. Marion
Palmer on Friday, July 21. All mem
bers are urged to be present.
The members of Willows grange
voted to dispense with one meeting
in July and one in August. The
next meeting will be a lawn party
at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Oscar
Lundell on Sunday, August 13th. A
basket dinner will be served at noon
(picnic style), to be followed with
a business meeting and program.
Grange members are invited.
