The annual Easter party for the
mothers and children will be held
in the Methodist church parlors on
Saturday afternoon between 3 and
5 o'clock. All primary and cradle
roll children and their mothers are
invited.
Easter services will begin at 7:15
a, m. with the observance of Holy
Communion. The service will last
from 7:15 to 8:00 and all communi
cants of all faiths are welcome. Come
as early as you wish for a period of
meditation before communion.
Sunday school will convene at
9:45 as usual and will close at 10:20.
The children's special Easter pro
gram will start promptly at 10:30.
This program will take a full half
hour, so be sure to be in your
places early if you wish to enjoy
the children's part.
At 11 there will be a baptismal
service to accommodate those who
could not be present Palm Sunday.
The Easter sermon will follow.
The Easter cantata, presented by
the choirs of Heppner, will begin
at 7:30 p. m. and will be held in the
Methodist church this year. Mr. Rus
sell McNeill is directing the cantata
and Mrs. J. O. Turner is accompany
ing. Those who are preparing this
beautiul Easter music are not only
giving of their talents but are mak
ing great personal sacrifices. The
Kingdom of God on earth advances
through the sacrificial services and
loyalty of those who claim Christ
as Lord. You are welcome to all the
services on Easter Day.
ALL SAINTS' CHURCH.
On Friday evening of this week
at 7:30, the Rev. Mr. Wiessenbach
of the Church of the Redeemer, Pen
dleton, will hold a Good Friday eve
ning service at All Saints' church.
On Saturday afternoon the Sun

EASTER FLOWERS BLOOM
Daffodils, hyacinths and other
early blooming flowers are now
coming out in profusion in Heppner
gardens just in time for Easter. Many
homes in the city are presenting
beautiful floral landscapes, but wor
thy of special mention is the home
of Mr. and Mrs. J. O. Rasmus where
planting is arranged to send forth
new blossoms with each season. The
early blossoming plants there are
now at their height. Tulips will be
coming on in a few days, they re
port. American Legion auxiliary will
meet Monday evening at the home
of Mrs. E. O. Ferguson.
