Bennett, for several years a resident of the - Alpine district where he wheat farmed and was prominent in community affairs, and who also auctioneered many public sales in the county, died at his home in Beaverton last Saturday. Funeral services were held at that place Monday. Mrs. Louis Marquardt of Lexington, sister of Mrs. Bennett, attended. Mrs. Bennett also is re ported quite ill at the Beaverton hospital. Court Proceedings For November Term BE IT REMEMBERED, That the County Court met in regular session at the Courthouse in Heppner, Ore gon, on Wednesday, the 3rd day of November, 1938, this being the reg ular time for holding a term of said Court, when were present: Bert Johnson, Judge; George N. Peck, Commissioner; L. D. Neill Commis sioner; C. W. Barlow, Clerk; C. J. D. Bauman, Sheriff; Frank C. Alfred, District Attorney. The minutes of the October, 1938, term were read and approved. In the Matter of Claims: Now, at this ' time, the various claims against the County were pre sented and the Court approved, dis approved, or continued them and ordered approved claims paid by the proper warrants from the' prop er funds. Court orders sale of county lands described as follows: Lots 1 and 2, Block 2, Cluffs 4th Add. to Town of lone. Min. price $10.00. Lots 2, 3, and 4, Block 4, to Morrow's Addition to Town of Heppner. Min. price $5.00. Lot 15, Block 38, to Town of Ir- rigon. Min. price $2.50. Lots 4 and 5, Block 17, to Town of Lexington. Min. price $20.00. All of Blocks 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, and 14, to the Town of Irrigon. Min. price $132.00 Terms cash or on payment plan.
