O The feel of Fall is in the air . . . The har
vest1 has been reaped ... On the range the
cow-hands are riding, rounding up the cattle
herds, cutting out the market steers, roping
and branding the young calves.
There's vim and .vigor in the early autumn
breeze . . . Countenances of youth and oldsters
blush reflection of a new electric tingling to the
blood stream ...
There's the urge to be up and a-doing
As the summer's work is done
And the "bestest" way to get a-doing
Is to have some good old-fashioned fun
On the corral fence the cheering cow-hands
gather ; . . Rearing, sun-fishing mustang bares
hooves to the heavens . . . A dauntless cowboy
rides aloft, the turbulent deck, hair wind-swept,
while in hand his waving sombrero dares the
raging beast to more exerted action . . . The
ponies race . . . The lariat twirls . . .There action
tense . ... and jaunty.
Yes, folks, there's action some fierce and turbulent in the Sports of the Old West woven into the
theme of Morrow County's Annual Rodeo, now two weeks away . . . There's music and dancing, too . . .
The glare of carnival lights and the thrill for kiddies of whirling rides . . . Then there's the pride of show
ing the year's accomplishment in 4-H Club work . . . It all goes to make a period of relaxation and GOOD
OLD-FASHIONED FUN for everyone.
