Hardman People
Come and Go in Week
By OPAL HASTINGS
Mildred and Irl Clary returned last
week from their visit in Portland.
They reported a grand time and had
a great deal of fun in speaking over
the radio.
Henry and Tommy Graham went
to The Dalles Sunday. A. D. Inskeep
returned with them. Frances Ins
keep is improving from her appen
dix operation and will return to her
home in Hardman Wednesday.
Mr. and Mrs. Max Buschke and
family were in Hardman one day
last week.
Mrs. G. I. Clary and children are
working for Ed Craber while the
hay is being put up.
Mr. and Mrs. Owen Leathers and
son Junior were in Hardman Sun
day. G. I. Clary and Tommy Graham
were in Heppner on business Sat
urday. The Joe Batty family was visiting
at the home of Mr. and Mrs. L. C.
Batty Sunday.
Mr. and Mrs. Carey Hastings and
daughters, Clarice and Yvonne, vis
ited Sunday at the home of Mr. and
Mrs. Max Buschke at Tamarack.
Mr. and Mrs. Victor Johnson and
children were in Hardman Sunday.
Mr. and Mrs. Dick Steers and sons
were in Hardman Sunday from the
mountains.
Mr. and Mrs. Raymond McDonald
and son Monty went to the moun
tains to cut wood for a few days.
Ollie and Lilly Hastings returned
to their home from the sheep camp
Sunday. Mrs. Hastings plans to stay
for a week.
Everyone was sorry to hear of the
shock received by Max Buschke the
other day and are hoping he does not
encounter any more of them while
working at Tamarack.
The weather around Hardman
seems to be like some people, rather
changeable. The Hardmanites are
wishing that it would make up its
mind pretty soon and be either cold
or warm, preferably warm for a
while.
Stanley Robinson took E. J. Mer
rill to Pendleton last Wednesday.
Marvin Brannon accompanied them.
Mr. Robinson purchased a pair of
glasses while he was there.

Irrigon Melons Ripe;
Stands Operating

The Irrigon melons are ripe and
several stands along the highway
are operating.
Fred Markham from Richland,
Wn., is picking melons at the Glen
Aldrich place.
Frank Ryder spent the week end
here with his mother.
Edward Nelson who is staying at
the Fred Reiks home visited at Ore
gon City over the week end.
Roena and Billy Allen who have
been visiting their grandparents at
Kimberley returned the last of the
week.
Miss LaVern Duus left last Satur
day for Portland where she is in
training at the University School of
Nursing.
Mr. and Mrs. Jack Browning and
daughter left Wednesday for Cen
tralia, Wn., for a week's visit with
relatives. Their son Bobby who has
been visiting his Grandmother Wa
ters the past 'month, will return
with them.
Mrs. Tom Caldwell is visiting rel
atives at Junction City.
Mr. and Mrs. Robert Smith were
Junction City visitors last week.
Mr. and Mrs. Dave Musgrave of
Monument visited the three Isom
families the first of the week. Mrs.
Musgrave is a- sister of Mrs. W. C.
Isom.
Mrs. Nora Wilson who has been
visiting her daughters at Gresham
and Portland returned Friday.
Mrs. Chas. McFa, son Jack and
Mrs. Ruth McCoy of Imbler visited
their mother, Mrs. J. A. Grabiel,
over Sunday.
Mrs. Emmett McCoy is quite ill at
her home.
Mr. and Mrs. V. M. Sackett of Sa
lem and Mrs. Mary A. Notson of
Portland arrived Monday to trans
act business and visit with old-time
Heppner friends.

Notice is hereby given that the
Trustees of the Heppner Farmers
Elevator Company, of Heppner, Or
egon, have sold and disposed of all
the assets of said Heppner Farmers
Elevator Company and have paid the
cost of the administration of said
trust, and said trustees have in their
possession sufficient funds to pay a
dividend of .0937 per cent on all
general claims against said Company.
The books and records may be in
spected by any creditor at the law
office of Jos. J. Nys, at Heppner,
Oregon, until the 27th day of Aug
ust, 1938, and if no objections are
filed by said time the dividends will
be paid, and said trust closed.

hereby required to appear and answer
the Supplemental Complaint filed
against you In the above entitled suit
on or before Four weeks from the 4th
day of August, 1938, and if you fail so
to answer, for want thereof, the plain
tiff will apply to the Court for the re
lief prayed for in the Supplemental
Complaint herein.
The object of this suit is to obtain a
Decree authorizing the Trustees to dis
tribute to the claimants, their assignees,
personal representatives, or heirs, the
funds on hand, or hereafter coming into
the hands of the Trustees, pro rata in
accordance with the Decrees heretofore
entered in this proceeding.
The ratification and confirmation of
all the acts of A. M. Markham, A. P.
Hughes and Ralph I. Thompson as
Trustees of the Estate of J. P. Rhea, an
insolvent debtor, since March 20, 1930.
For a Decree fixing and allowing a
reasonable attorney's fee for the attor
ney acting for said Trustees in bring
ing this suit and advising the said
Trustees in their management of the
said Estate.
For a further Decree fixing a reason
able fee to be allowed the Trustees as
compensation for their services as Trus
tees and authorizing the payment of the
said attorney's fees and Trustees' fees.
For such other and further Ordersas
may be necessary and proper herein,
and the plaintiffs pray for general re
lief. This summons is served upon you by
?ublication thereof once each week for

ner Gazette Times, a weekly newspaper
of general circulation published at
Heppner, Morrow County, State of Ore-
