Plays to be given April 16 are as follows: "Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs," by the primary room; two pantomimes by the upper grade room; "How the Story Grew," by eight of the .local ladies; "Not Quite Such a Goose,' by some of the high school pupils, and three other short humorous numbers by the high school. The program will start promptly at 8:15. The prices are 10, 15 and 25 cents. After the program there will be a general good time and everyone is supposed to stay. A third of the proceeds . will go to the grade school, a fact which was omitted last week. Rita Robinson led Christian En deavor Sunday evening. The topic for discussion was "Why is gossip harmful?" Mrs. Owen Leathers will lead next time. Mr. and Mrs. Neal Knighten and children, accompanied by Miss Iris Morton and Mrs. Muriel McCutch eon, drove as near as they could and then hiked the rest of the distance to Glutton falls Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Max Buschke visited Mr. Buschke's folks near Heppner Sunday. Mrs. Richard Jones accompanied Oscel Inskeep to Hardman where she visited Mrs. A. D. Inskeep and Mrs. J. B. Adams Sunday. James Stevens and Miss Frances Inskeep visited Miss Alta Stevens at the Clark Stephens ranch Satur day. Mr. and Mrs. Charles Fraters vis ited the Fred Gallagher home Sun day night. At Sunday school Mrs. Muriel Mc Cutcheoh, teacher of the Loyal Lead ers class, presented Yvonne Hast ings and Mildred Clary with beauti ful bibles for outstanding work done in connection with a series of bible stories. Maxine McDaniel and Mildred Clary were on the spelling honor roll last week. All of Roland Farrens' friends were pleased to learn that he has been invited to join the Theta Delta Phi, national honorary society for men. Roland's friends in high school congratulate him on his splendid work in the E. O. N. junior college. Fine weather seems to be coming after winds, snows, and rains. But it was only "seems," for on Tuesday Hardman awoke to a very damp and white world with two inches of snow but the sun soon came out and it was spring again. Lewis Batty and Nelson Knighten were business visitors in Heppner Monday. Mr. and Mrs. Herman Clemmer visited the Sabin Hastings home on Sunday. They left their daughter Sylvia for a visit. "Calling all squirrels!" Beware from now on, because Owen Leath ers and Guy Chapin will be hunting again and will be just as deadly as they were last Saturday. Visitors to Heppner Saturday were Miss Opal Hastings, Miss Loes Stev ens, Miss Maxine McDaniel, Mr. and Mrs. Carey Hastings and children, Mr. and Mrs. Richard Robison, Mr. and Mrs. Charley McDaniel, Claude Hastings, Leon Chapin, Case Ad ams, Ted Burnside, Marvin Bran non and Les Brannon. Donald Robinson spent the week end at his father's ranch. Ried's mill of Hardman and on Rock creek opened Monday. Mr. and Mrs. Kinnard McDaniel were visiting in Heppner Friday Forrest Adams went to work on Monday at Reed's mill. The weekly meeting of "Commu nity Sings" was held Wednesday night. The hour was spent in singing hvmns. A special number, "Shall We Gather at the River," was sung by Mildred Clary, Alene Inskeep and Ollie Hastings. Richard Robison left Sunday for Ira McConkie's where he will work, Mr. and Mrs. Victor Johnson and daughter were visiting friends here Sundav. Mr. and Mrs. Charley McDaniel were visitors in Heppner Monday where Mr. McDaniel consulted a physician. Ed McDaniel accompan ied them there. Bill Greener was visiting here on Sunday.
