Sponsors Bazaar

The Home Economics club is spon
soring a bazaar to be held on Satur
day, April 15. Everyone is invited
for the afternoon and supper will
be served at 6 p. m. The charges will
be very reasonable. There will be
an open program in the evening for
everyone.
Miss Hazel Tyler left Wednesday
for Portland after visiting her moth
er. She will return later to work in
Arlington.
Tom Hendrick and Fred Alt left
last week for Portland on business.
Mr. and Mrs. Bob Harwood spent
Saturday shopping in Pendleton.
H. B. Thomas and Marietta mo
tored to Pendleton Thursday to take
Joe Saltyman to catch the Stream
liner to Alvado Ohio. Lucille Mc
Cutcheon accompanied them.
Mrs. L. Colosso spent Thursday
shopping in Pendleton.
Imogene Wilson and Dave John
son of Moscow, Idaho, spent the past
week visiting at the Robert Wilson
home.
Miss Maye Fisher of La Grande
returned to her work after visiting
the past two weeks at the home of
her parents, Mr. and Mrs. John
Fisher.
Mr. and Mrs. Ed Barlow spent
Sunday visiting relatives in Hepp
ner. Mr. and Mrs. Conlon of Umatilla
visited at the Parson home Sunday.

iting friends and relatives on the
project.
Ted Wilson and Youis Kobow mo
tored to Pendleton Monday and re
turned with Jack Gorham's car which
had been in the garage.
Don Tannehill broke the large
bone in his wrist last week while
pole vaulting.
Mr. and Mrs. Eben Uthe of Milton
visited at the Peck home Saturday
and then Mrs. Peck and daughter
and Mr. and Mrs, Lester Uthe mo
tored with them to The Dalles where
they spent the week end.
Mr. and Mrs. John Jenkins of Ru
fus visited Mr. and Mrs. R. Har
wood Sunday.
Mr. and Mrs. Al Guise of Cove
have moved onto the old Turner
place.
Mrs. Jay Cox and children of Se
attle spent the week end visiting
friends and relatives on the project.
Mr. and Mrs. John McEntire and
son Jack and La Vern Baker were
shoppers in Pendleton Saturday.
Mr. and Mrs. Eldon Wilson of La
Grande visited on the project over
the week end.
The grade school operetta was
given last Friday evening. The name
of it was "Tom Sawyer. A large
crowd attended and everyone en
joyed it.
Silver tea was held at the home
of Mrs. John Fisher last Wednesday
afternoon.
Mrs. Edith Hendricks spent Sat
urday shopping in Walla Walla.
Mr. and Mrs. Turner Bond of Ore
gon City spent the week end visit
ing at the John Fisher home.
Mr. and Mrs. C. I. Young of Uma
pine visited at the Neal Bleakney
home over the week end.
Mrs. R. Wren of Seattle is visiting
her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Chas. Dil
lon, this week.
Mr. and Mrs. Neal Bleakney spent
Tuesday in Heppner on business.

At 5:30 p. m. a delicious lunch
was served to a large number of
grangers. At 7:30 the closing busi
ness of the day was in order. About
10 p. m.' all departed for their re
spective homes feeling a day well
spent full of pleasure and valuable
