Those who went were Lewis , Batty, Elmer Steers James Stevens, Sabin Hastings, El mer Palmer, Billy Reynolds, A. D. Inskeep. Neal Knighten, Leon Cha pin, Glenn Farrens, Nelson and Hen ry Knighten. Mr. and Mrs. Wes Stevens and Harold Stevens made a business trip to Hamilton Saturday. Frances Inskeep was taken to a doctor Thursday when she had an attack of appendicitis. She returned to school Monday. The Birthday club met Friday, Dec 16, for their exchange gift Christmas party. Refreshments con sisted of popcorn balls, home made candy and peanuts. J. E. Musgrave was a guest at the home of J. W. Stevens Sunday. Muriel McCutcheon, Frances Ins keep and Opal Hastings were at Mrs. J. W. Stevens' Tuesday night to make popcorn balls for the Sunday school. Everyone had a good time in spite of the work involved. Mrs. Herman Clemmer of Black Horse was visiting her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Sabin Hastings. She had planned to stay until after Christ mas but was called home suddenly. The "Let's Talk" met with a larger attendance than in previous meet ings and much more interest in par liamentary law was implied. Twenty-five people have joined the club. Mrs. Neal Knighten was elected chairman and Vern McDaniel as secretary. At the next meeting which will be held Dec. 29 the high school is going to give a humorous panel discussion. Esten Stevens is spending the week end at the home of his parents, Mr, and Mrs. J. W. Stevens. He is work ing at Lester Wick's at Lone Rock, Mr. and Mrs. F. E. McDaniel have purchased a 1938 Ford V-8. The Community Sing was well attended the last time. There were several specials as follows: Two numbers by the harmonica band directed by Mrs. McCutcheon; two numbers on the bazookas by Marvin Saddler, Iry Clary and Donald Rob inson; a reading by Marvin Adams, and two numbers on the piano by Mrs. McCutcheon. It was decided that each organization give a num ber for the community Christmas program to be given Dec. 22. We are glad to know that Mrs. Lewis Knighten is improving. Mr. and Mrs. Harley Rogers of Stanfield were visitors at Mr. and Mrs. Neal Knighten's over the week end. Add Inskeep and Oscel Inskeep made a business trip to The Dalles Friday. Christian Endeavor met at the us ual "hour Sunday evening. Albert Schunk led the meeting. Marvin Brannon will lead next Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Frank McDaniel and Elwood Hastings motored to Pendleton and Walla Walla Sunday. They returned Tuesday. Roland Farrens is home from La Grande where he is attending col lege. He is spending his Christmas vacation with friends and relatives. There will be another dance at the I. O. O. F. hall in two weeks, Jan. 1, 1938.
