Boardman em erged victorious with a score of 30 to 20. A group from the Greenfield grange motored to Irrigon Saturday evemng to carry on the installation of officers. Refreshments were serv ed and dancing enjoyed afterwards, H. B. Thomas, Ed Barlow, Mari etta and Lee Thomas were business visitors in Pendleton Saturday. Miss Hazel Parson and Eldon Shannon spent Saturday shopping in Pendleton. Mr. Compton and daughter. Vir ginia, spent the week end visiting in The Dalles. Mr. and Mrs. Orville Carpenter of Portland spent the week end visiting at the Delbert Carpenter home. W. A. Strobel has moved to Athe na where he will be employed on the highway. Fred Martin of Athena has moved here to take the place of Mr. Strobel on the highway. Home Ec club was held at the home of Mrs. R. Wilson on Wed nesday. A large crowd attended and a lovely pot -luck dinner was served. Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Sullivan and J. Rothenberger motored to Pendle ton on business Saturday. Joe Mann, who is working at Uma tilla, visited here over the week end. Miss Echo Coats was taken to the doctor in Hermiston Saturday to re ceive treatment for foot trouble. The postoffice now, closes at 5 p. m. Herb Parson of Hilgard spent the week end visiting his parents, Mr. and Mrs. H. R. Parson. N Mrs. I. Skoubo, Ed and Ralph Skoubo and Ted Wilson were Pen dleton visitors Friday. Mr. and Mrs. Gus Seeber of Spo kane spent the week end visiting Mrs. Seeber"s parents, Mr. and Mrs. Harry Jayne. Mr. and Mrs. Ray Brown and Mrs. Percy Rake and son are visiting rel atives in La rande this week. Mr. and Mrs. Albin Sundsten and children spent Saturday shopping in Pendleton. Miss Cecelia Brennon of Condon spent the week end visiting Miss Tildon. Miss Brennon will be re membered as one of our last year high school teachers. Mr. and Mrs. Davis have moved from the old Paul Smith place to the Murchie house. A. R. Hug, Simon Gent and Mr. Reece were business visitors in Her miston Monday. Charles McElligott was transact ing business in the city Tuesday. He expected to leave the end of the week to join his family in Portland where they have been since the be ginning of the school year while the children are attending school. Char lie expected to stay in the city for several weeks during the slack sea son on the farm, though the tempta tion to see the wheat grow may call him back at intervals.
