Democratic Meeting
Called in Portland
Portland, Oct 20 (Special) A
call has been issued for a meeting
of Oregon Democrats at Portland,
Oct 30 for the purpose of organizing
a state-wide Democratic society or
federation. The session will be con
vened in west-side W. O. W. hall at
8 o'clock p. m.
Dr. R. M. Erwin, chairman of the
organization committee, says the
movement was launched several
months ago and that already over
100 prominent democrats of the state
have signed the membership roll. He
says that "it is proposed to form an
organization in which every district
of the state will be represented, and
which will be representative of the
state as a whole in its control and
activities.
"Permanent headquarters, open at
all times for Democratic meetings
and social functions, will be main
tained." Democrats of every county are in
vited to attend the organization
meeting.
D. N. Mackay, Condon attorney
and mayor of that city, was a bus
iness visitor in the city yesterday for
several hours.

has fixed the 30th day of October, 1937, at the hour of 2:30 at the Court
House in Heppner, Oregon, as the time and place at which said estimates
may be discussed with the Board of Education of said Non-high School
District, at which time and place any and all persons interested will be
heard for or against said tax levy or any part thereof. That said estimates
