HEPPNER GAZETTE TIMES, HEPPNER, OREGON, THURSDAY, SEPT. 23, 1937 NEW CO-OP LOANS MADE AVAILABLE Farmers Needing Cooperative Facilities Can Apply to Rural "" Rehabilitation Supervisor Community and cooperative ser vice loans are available for groups of farm families in counties where joint use of coperative facilities such as purebred sires, heavy farm ma chinery, canning equipment and sim ilar services is more economical than on an individual basis, according to R. S. Thompson, county rehabilita tion supervisor, Farm Security ad ministration. Loans for these cooperative facil ities are part of the regular rehabil itation program to bring greater se curity to farm families unable to se cure adequate commercial credit for cooperative enterprises. Two types of loans are available, one on the master-borrower plan for participa tion of individuals in a community service, and the other for partici pation in established cooperative as sociations. Loans run over a period of several years with interest at three percent. Master - borrower loans enable .small groups of farm families to have cooperative use of purebred sires, Harvesters, feed grinders, hay bail ers, pressure canners, or any facil ities that will contribute toward more efficient farm operations and reha bilitation of families unable to afford such services on an individual basis.
