The people signed up the contracts for the electricity. Mrs. Sadie Allen and her son' and grandson of Los Angeles stopped at the Baker home Monday on their way to La Grande. Mr. and Mrs. Charlie Barlow of Heppner visited friends and rela tives in Boardman Sunday. Edith Marie returned from Portland where she has been attending school. Mr. and Mrs. J. F. Gorham, Kate, Janet and Madell Gorham and Mrs. Talbot spent Sunday at Multnomah falls. Kate and Janet Gorham went from there on to Portland where they will spend several weeks vis iting. Mr. and Mrs. H. B. Thomas mo tored to Hermiston Saturday where they purchased a new electric re frigerator. Lawrence Narkoski visited his parents, Mr. and Mrs. John Nar koski, over the week end. Miss Essie Jones is now working at Tom's camp. A dredge crew arrived this week to work in the river. This is the sec ond crew to work here on the river. The Greenfield grange has plan ned a picnic at Coyote for Sunday afternoon. Mrs. Talbot of California arrived Friday to visit her sister, Mrs. J. F.. Gorham, and her mother, Mrs. Blay den. Mrs. Eva Warner, who has been visiting in Seattle, returned to her home in Boardman this week. Miss Mildred Ayers is working for Mrs. A. R. Hug, who has infec tion in her thumb. The conservation crew which was here earlier in the summer has returned to finish the work which they had started. Mr. and Mrs. Glen Hadley, Mar garet Myers and Mrs. Myers were Pendleton visitors this week. Mr. and Mrs. Leo Root were busi ness visitors in Hermiston Tuesday. Mike Healy received the job as mail carrier between the post office and the train. Mrs. J. F. Gorham, Mrs. Talbot and Mardell were visitors in Pendle ton Monday.
