TN THIS short summation of the

of the campaign which were bur.

day, there shall be no alibis, no
crocodile tears.
The will of the electorate was
preponderantly expressed, and the
American form of government
proved successful in allaying the
lost issues, bloodlessly and with no
aftermath of carnage. That in it

America are pledged to bow to that
decision. But in the process of
winning, the course of the future
has been altered to some extent by
the combat We may have conn
dence that the government leaders
have hearkened to some helpful
light shed by the opposition, and
thereby may be reflected some whi
of benefit toward better government.
This newspaper congratulates
President Roosevelt on his victory,
and in the future as in the past
will support him in all measures
which we believe to be for the gen
eral good. We still retain the priv
ilege of criticizing when criticism
seems justified.
