MORROW county democrats met in Hmnnw Saturday afternoon and selected a full ticket of candi dates for local offices. Already many republicans had entered the lists for various offices, with the result that many lively contests are in the offing both for the May 15 primaries and for the general elec tion in the fall. There are good men in the field for all the offices and in many in stances it will be hard for voters to determine who the most capable man for a position may be. The situation is a healthy one, however, because there is real incentive for voters to go to the polls. Too often. lack of contests give voters nothing to decide and they take no interest. Problems of government are be coming ever more complicated with government branching out farther into various fields. Such compli cation has resulted in an ever in creasing tax bill as well. This fur nishes additional incentive for Mr. Average Voter to take a more ac tive hand in matters politic. And only through an active, thinking electorate can the problems con fronted be solved to the advantage of all.
