Miss Thelma Forbes Is In Hepp ner where she has employment at the J. C. Penney Co. store. Mr. and Mrs. Dale Brown of Portland were recent visitors in the home of Mrs. Brown's sister, Mrs. Roy Lleuallen. Mrs. Frank Engelman attended the missionary convention held last week in the Christian church at Pendleton. She had the pleasure of hearing many interesting speakers. John Eubanks has a position with the Maytag washing machine com pany with headquarters in Pendle ton. Mr. and Mrs. Harry McKinney and Mrs. Edgar Carr of Arlington were Sunday guests in the Ned Carr home on Second street Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Jones of Portland visited Sunday in the Dale Ray home. Mrs. Jones is Mr. Ray's niece. Rex Fisk drove over from Ken newick Sunday. When he returned to his home he was accompanied by Mrs. Fisk who has been in lone for some time caring for her aunt, Mrs. Alice McNabb. Mrs. McNabb is now quite well again. Miss Bonnie Smith from Santa Ana, Calif., Is here for a visit with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Smith. Mr. and Mrs. R. E. Harbison, ac companied by their son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Gardner, were Pendleton visitors Monday. The Social Civics club of the high school is giving a Hallowe'en mas querade party, October 29, for the high school and the faculty. At the meeting of the club held Monday it was decided to levy a fine on each unmasked guest who attended the party. Miss Leona Ritchie of Portland came Sunday and will spend two weeks visiting friends here. Those who attendd the Pamona grange meeting at Stanfleld October 17 were Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Heli- ker and Donald and Harriet, Mr, and Mrs. Ed Buschke and Lois, Jo sephine and Henry, Mr. and Mrs. Harry Cool and Mable and Elmer, Harry and Elmer Peterson, Mar garet Crawford, Geneva and Beu lah Pettyjohn, John and Veda Eu. banks, Mrs. Earl Morgan and Mil dred and Lloyd and Gladys Bra- shears, all members of the Willows grange. At this meeting the impres sive fifth degree was conferred on Geneva and Beulah Pettyjohn, John Eubanks, Gladys Brashears, and Mr. and Mrs. Ed Buschke and chil dren. The Mid-Columbia assocltaion of Congregational churches held Its annual visitation meeting at Lexing ton Tuesday.
