They are just as happy and Pyth

Baseball observed that President
Hoover was "wild In his pitch,"
throwing the ball that started
Washington's baseball season.
Technicians said that throwing
the medicine ball had "made the
President a little strong on the
wing." "Wing" is baseball language
for "arm."
Intelligent baseball men will say
to President Hoover, as the artist of
old said to the ruler, annoyed at be
ing excelled by him, "God forbid
that you should know as much
about this as I know."
There is such a thing as knowing
too much about baseball.

Such a man as Mr. Coolidge could

difficulty find work more useful

France in 1928 built only 1140 air
planes. Great Britain sells more airplanes
abroad than we do.
France, however, has five times as
many fighting planes as we have.
Her fighting fleet is so big it makes
Great Britain very polite.
France is the real airplane coun
try, no matter what others may
manufacture. Britain is catching up.
We lag behind, but that will change.
A gentleman of the American De

Mr. Hoover knows a good deal
more about immigration than the
American Defense Society knows.

for about three weeks, was operated

his illness. Miss Helen Curran,

J. W. Stevens and son James, Jr.,

Spring has arrived in the Monu

Encouraging Complexion Beauty.
In spring and early summer one
hears the term "spring fever" a
term used somewhat mysteriously
to cover the symptoms of lack of
ambition and moodiness which
characterize the temper of many
people during the very season when
Nature is most profligate in her re
newal of life and beauty.
There is really nothing myster
ious about the malady, however. It
Is simply a state which has been
brought about by the clogging of
the system during the long indoor
season when social activities, late
parties, rich food and lack of exer
cise have played havoc with the
health and beauty of the most nat
urally healthy person.
This general sluggishness and
clogging effects the skin markedly.
Indeed almost every physical ail
ment registers its effect upon the
skin, which is a sensitive and clever
barometer of general bodily health.
The skin looks dull, sallow and
sluggish; perhaps. lined and dry as
well. Often it has blackheads and
a rash, or a suggestion of acne.
Since a fresh, quick circulation is
the essential foundation of all skin
health and beauty good healthy
blood, too, of course this must be
awakened by special stimulation.
Adequate physical exercise taken
often and regularly will do much
for general bodily circulation and
so for the circulation of the facial
skin. But exercise, to be effective,
must be vigorous and taken regu
larly, not mild and spasmodic, as
some seem to believe.
And a quick and simple way to
bring a healthy circulation up into
the face is by the use of a specially
prepared circulation stimulant elth
er liquid or Cream. I personally
believe that the liquid stimulants
are more effective. They bring the
blood up to the tissues more imme
diately upon their application, re
vitalizing them into activity and
health. The skin becomes rosy and
fresh at once, and glows as it does
after exercise. In fact, their magic
is so remarkable, so quick in effect
and so sucessful that often, when
using them for. the first time, wo
men are astonished with results and
fear they are "too good to be true.'
They are in truth delightful, and
while they are activating, there is
nothing in the least harmful In their
composition. No chemicals are used
in preparation; only the most bene
ficial of Nature's herbs and roots.
Scientifically created, they form a
rare beauty aid and secret the se
cret of good circulation which is
also the secret of complexion, health
and beauty.

Watch the new Ford
on the hills, in traffic,
and on the open road,
and you will know that
it is a truly great car
THE minute you see the new Ford
car you will be delighted with its
low, smart lines and the artistic
color combinations. There, you
will say, is a truly modern car.
But a still greater thrill awaits
you when you slip into the roomy

You will like the feeling of
power that the new Ford gives you
the comfortable, prideful feel
ing that comes from having a car

You will like the flexibility and safety of the new Ford car as you weave
in and out of traffic its flashing pick-up as the light turns green and the
sign says "Go." You will like its smooth, quiet steadiness on the open road
where you can lazy along according to your mood, or do 55 and even
65 miles an hour if you desire. The new Ford has unusual speed no

There are still other reasons why the new Ford car is a great car to own
