Another man who has made a
worthwhile success in his line at
Heppner and whose store today
would well do credit to any of our
larger centers is E. H. Buhn, local
watchmaker and jeweler who owns
and operates the store under his
name.
Here is a store carrying excep
tionally large lines of all manner of
jewelry, silver, watches and kindred
goods. Of gift goods he makes a
particular specialty.
Mr. Buhn is himself an expert
watchmaker of many years of ex
perience and looks after the repair
in person. He took over this busi
ness about two years ago, coming
from Portland where he was for
merly connected with one of the
larger wholesale houses. He Is also
the official railroad watch inspector
for this district and is considered
one of the best watch authorities.
With such a store and with such
up-to-date stocks here our people
have no occasion to patronize out
of town or mail order houses.
In the comparative short space of
time that Mr. Buhn has operated
here he has built up a fine business
and today counts among his friends
and patrons all of the people of the
county.

ner is the Heppner Steam Laundry
which well serves the local trade
with high grade laundry work.
The laundry is owned and per
sonally supervised by A. J. Westoff,
a laundry man of many years ex
perience. Mr. Westoff hails originally from
Missouri where he was also former
ly conducting laundries. Looking
over the west for investment oppor
tunities he decided Heppner was a
most ideal location. He took over
this laundry business 17 years ago.
During his time he has of course
added modern machinery and many
improvements until today it is one
of the best equipped smaller laun
dries in the state.
Through efficient work and
prompt delivery service he has built
up a fine trade and has made a

acted yearly by the Ferguson Chev
rolet company of Heppner, distri
butors for the popular Chevrolet,
Oakland and Pontiac cars. To their
credit let it be said that during last
year the firm's sales showed a Jead
over all others in the county.
The history of the firm is one of
growth ahd progress. Starting or
iginally on a smaller scale in an
other location their business growth
soon made it necessary to erect lar
ger, more modern and better equip
ped quarters with the result that
the above noted modern structure
was erected by them in 1926. Here
are carried all manner of parts and
accessories with attendant service

owner. A well equipped repair de
partment is a feature of the busi
ness. This is also the sole agency
for the USL batteries with battery
service, battery recharging, rebuild
ing, etc., a feature.
