This exhibit will be held under the auspices of the Pa cific Cooperative Wool Growers, with C. E. Grelle, member of that associa tion and director of the Pacific Inter national, in direct charge. "This show is open to every wool and mohair grower, whether a mem ber of the wool growers association or not. All growers will receive the same consideration," announces Mr. Grelle. "Rules and shipping tags may be secured by writing to the Pa cific Cooperative Wool Growers, 461 Davis street, Portland. Fleeces may be sent to their warehouse at any time, where they will be taken care of and held for the show. "This is a real opportunity for wool and mohair growers to have their clips judged by the leading experts of the west, and to carry home some prize money and valuable trophies." Cash prizes, ribbons and in some cases silver trophies, will be award ed the best fleeces in the various classifications. The cash prizes will range from $3.00 to $15.00 for first place, depending uupn the number of entries. The Pacific Cooperative Wool Grow ers will give a silver trophy for the best Quarter-Blood fleece in the show. Charles J. Webb has offered a hand some silver platter for the best Fine Wool fleece, and the United States National bank of Portland has donat ed a silver cup as a perpetual trophy for the best Three-Eights fleece ex hibited. Some of the purebred sheep associations will give special prizes for fleeces from the particular breed of sheep they represent. The best mohair buck fleece will be awaded a beautiful mohair davenport cushion by the Angora Journal of Portland and L. C. Chase & Co., Bos ton distributors of mohair. All of these trophies and special prizes will be given in addition to the regular cash prizes and ribbons, and other additions to this attractive lineup of awards have been promised. From the large number of entries already received, the event promises to be the largest and most interesting wool show held in the West, accord ing to those in charge. Poor Court Attendance Cause of Injustice Difficulty in obtaining justice for the victimized party or parties in automobile accident cases centers around the inability of official agen cies to get witnesses to appear in court and, if some way could be de vised to get around this obstacle, it would mark an important contribu tion to the cause of street and high way safety, in the opinion of 0. 8. Robertson, director of the Oregon State Motor association. "That it is this factor which de ters many of thenv is illustrated in the case of the Oregon State Motor association, which is affiliated with the American Automobile association. This club has had a wide experience in safety work. Recently when it was found that there were but few convictions in hundreds of auto fa talities each year, the club got busy. "It offered a reward of $50.00 to witnesses who would aid in convict wig reckless or careless drivers. Since that time many convictions have been secured and the reward been claimed numerous times. "This reward made it possible for witnesses to take time off from their work with the result that they con tributed their bit to seeing that jus tice was done. Everyone has a re sponsibility when he sees an auto mobile accident. Rewarded or unre warded, he should make an effort to lay his version of the incident before a court. "In this way only will the careless and reckless driver be driven from the highway, which is an end that every law-abiding motorist devoutly wishes."
