The Portland market did not go quite so high, but there was an advance of one to three cents over Saturday. Portand quotations were $1.27 to $1.32. Much of the wheat in the northwest this year is lacking in protein and not up to standard for milling purposes, but will be sold for export. The grain inspection department under the State Market Agent's office at Portland handled some 300 car loads of wheat Monday and expects an average of 200 carloads a day dur ing the next three months.
