Rest our beloved sister Mary A. Kirk,
who was long a faithful member of
San Souci Rebekah Lodge, No. 33,
Therefore, be it resolved, that San
Souci Rebekah Lodge No. 33, in tes
timony of its loss and to express its
love, drape its charter for thirty days
and that we tender to the bereaved
family of our departed sister our
deepest smpathy, and that a copy of
these resolutions be spread on the
minutes, and a copy be sent to the
family.

WHEAT MARKET EXCiTED.
The eastern whea tmarkfjt.3 became
vtry muih excited Monda when
freezing weather was reported over
a large area in Canada, and there was
a raise of six cents a bushel through
the day. The Portland market did
not go quite so high, but there was
an advance of one to three cents over
Saturday. Portand quotations were
$1.27 to $1.32. Much of the wheat
in the northwest this year is lacking
in protein and not up to standard for
milling purposes, but will be sold for
export.
The grain inspection department
under the State Market Agent's office
at Portland handled some 300 car
loads of wheat Monday and expects
an average of 200 carloads a day dur
ing the next three months.

NOTICE OF BOND SALE.
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that
the undersigned will receive sealed
bids until 2:00 o'clock P. M., the 7th
day of September, 1927, and imme
diately thereafter the bids received
will be publicly opened by the Coun
ty Court, at the County Court Room
in the Courthouse in Heppner, Ore
gon, for the purchase of an issue of
bonds of Morrow County, for the con
struction of permanent roads there
in in the sum of one hundred twenty
thousand dollars ($120,000), said
bonds to be in denominations of $1,
000 each, numbered 1 to 120, inclu
sive, to bear date of September 1,
1927, and to mature serially in nu
merical order at the rate of $6,000 on
the first day of September in each of
the years 1933 to 1952, inclusive, the
first maturing $78,000 par value of
said bonds to bear interest at 4 3-4
per annum and the last maturing
$42,000 par value of said bonds to
bear interest at the rate of 4 per
annum, payable semiannually on the
first days of March and September,
principal and interest payable in gold
coin at the office of the County Treas
urer in Heppner, Oregon, or at the
fiscal agency of the State of Oregon
in New York City.
All bids must be unconditional and
accompanied by a certified check for
$5,000.00.
The court reserves the right to re
ject any and all bids.
The approving legal opinion of
Messrs. Teal, Winfree, McCulloch &
Snuler will be furnished the success
ful bidder.
