Mr. nd Mrs. Frank Munkers hve
moved into the Pointer property
where they will remain for the hot
season.
Smith Town arrived by auto last
week from Spokane. He is at present
busy at the H. E. Warner ranch.
Later he expects to be employed at
the Farmers Elevator warehouse. Mr.
Town was in Lexington about a year
ago at the Burgoyne warehouse.
Miss Velle Ward is up from Salem
for a visit among Lexington relatives
and friends.
Miss Mary Slocum entertained a
number of her friends at a pleasant
party on Saturday evening last.
Mrs. Sarah White and W. F. Bur
nett have recently purchased Ford
trucks to be used during the wheat
hauling season.
Miss Eva Padberg was a visitor at
the home of Mrs. Sadie Lewis batur
day.
Little Joan Schriver who his been

narents. Mr. and Mrs. O. J. Cox, is
now much improved.

Salem where she expects to remain
indefinitely.

ington on Monday evening.
Mr. and Mrs. Rov Lake were camp
ers at the local yard during several

Seattle and are out' in the open for
Mrs. Lake's health.

1926, at the hour of 10 o'clock in the

The robber was described as being
six feet tall, of very dark complexion.
He wore a dark hat with a wide rim,
a dark gray coat with lighter gray
trousers.
No estimate could be obtained from

vault at the time of the robbery which
the bandit passed up in his hurry to
get away. The cash box in the vault
was locked, said Mrs. Mcfaul, out tne
bandit did not ask for the key.
A later account, reported in the
Oregonian, states that Jim Mayes, who
was alleged to have held up the cash
ier of the State Bank of Echo and es
caped with $1500 in currency, was
caught near Cold Spring by Tom Bol
len and Carl Gilbert, who cha ed him
