THE FLASHLIGHT
Last Saturday after dismissal of
school the high school girls assem
bled for then first basketball practice.
Although we do no intend to play
match games, we consider our time
well spent in practicing.
The past two days have been spent
in general review of all the subjects.
The semester examinations begin on
Wednesday, for which we are all
working hard.
The two subjects, botany and econ
omics, to take the place of physiology
and social problems,, will be taught
next semester.
Mrs. Sperry has been ill for a short
time, but we are all pleased to learn
chat she is much better.
Mrs. Mahrt and her daughter Leah
Katherine, went to their ranch on
Eight Mile Saturday.
Mrs. jennie Jaooner visited our

HAINES CITY
JT'S UPLAND air is good to breathe. There it a
tang about it that is not only agreeable but
stimulating. The State Board of Health has cer
tified Haines City as one of the healthiest places
in the country.
You will also like the air of prosperity which
permeates the place. There is an atmosphere of
progress everywhere. You see it in the huge
buildings being erected, in the preparations for
expansion, and in brisk movements of business
generally. ,
Naturally, you will like the lakes and groves. In
your automobile you visit the six lakes within the
city's limits some of them very large and all
the time you are in and among the groves laden
ed with ripening fruit.
But a city is more than buildings, or business,
or beauty. It is mane up of people, and the
people of Haines City are of the likeable kind.
They make newcomers feel at home with the true
friendliness of the South.
Yes. you will like Haines City. It is a city of
opportunity both for the capitalist and the work-
