THE FLASHLIGHT Last Saturday after dismissal of school the high school girls assem bled for then first basketball practice. Although we do no intend to play match games, we consider our time well spent in practicing. The past two days have been spent in general review of all the subjects. The semester examinations begin on Wednesday, for which we are all working hard. The two subjects, botany and econ omics, to take the place of physiology and social problems,, will be taught next semester. Mrs. Sperry has been ill for a short time, but we are all pleased to learn chat she is much better. Mrs. Mahrt and her daughter Leah Katherine, went to their ranch on Eight Mile Saturday. Mrs. jennie Jaooner visited our town Monday. Last Friday evening the young peo nle of Hardman attended a party at You'll Like HAINES CITY JT'S UPLAND air is good to breathe. There it a tang about it that is not only agreeable but stimulating. The State Board of Health has cer tified Haines City as one of the healthiest places in the country. You see it in the huge buildings being erected, in the preparations for expansion, and in brisk movements of business generally. , Naturally, you will like the lakes and groves. In your automobile you visit the six lakes within the city's limits some of them very large and all the time you are in and among the groves laden ed with ripening fruit. But a city is more than buildings, or business, or beauty. It is mane up of people, and the people of Haines City are of the likeable kind.
