A Hug Chines Top.
Chinamen in Astoria, Ore., amuse
themselves with a huge top made
out of an empty white lead keg. A
square opening is cut in the side,
and it talces three men to spin it
one to hold the top and two to pull
the string with a stick which sets it
in motion. While spinning it
sounds like the whistle of a steam
er and can be heard three blocks
away.
