Miss Klma Byrne of Salem, who
gave a recital at tbe Christian church
here a few weeks ago, arrived Tuesday
evening and will assist with tbe music
at tbe revival services being conducted
in the Baptist church.
Milt Morgan and bride returned last
Thursday from Hood River where tbey
were married a couple of weeks ago at
the home of the brides parents, Mr. and
Mrs. H. C. Rush. On the evening of
their arrival bere tbey were given a
friendly serenade where congratulations
were extended by their many friends.

This office has been handed a letter
from Mayor Carter II. Harrison of Chi
cago, addressed to Rev. John Warren,
missionary in charge of Alt Saints Epis
copal church of Heppner. The letter
referred to Is a reply to one sent by Rev.
Warren to the Chicago mayor In which
was Inclosed a $10 check intended aa a
relief offering for the sufferers from the
great theatre disaster which occurred in
Chicago recently. Mayor Harrison re
turned the check, giving as bis season
for so doing that no fund bas been either
started or coutem plated, and no ontaide
help will be received, but thanka Rev,
Warren very cordially for his generosity
and etpressions of sympathy.
