day the middle of last week.
W. E. Ahalt returned, Sunday
from a visit in Stanfield in the
home of an old friend On the way
home Mr. Ahalt stoppedd over at
Rhea Siding for a drief visit w ith
his his daughter, Mrsr Herman
Havercost.
Members of the Joe Gibson
family the Ralph Ledbetttr fam
ily and the N. E. Petty jnhn fam
ily have mumps.

very mild form.
Mr. and Mrs. C. W. Swanson
and Mr. and Mrs. Emil Swanson
returned, Friday, from Sumner,
Washington, wheJethey had been
called by the death of their niece
Mrs. Robert Balienger, raughtef
of Mr and Mrs Fred Gustafson.
Mrs. Bellinger (Dorris Gustafson)
was married Jan.' 5 and was on
her wedding trip vrhen she was
stricken with ptomaine poisoni.ig.
Shewastaen ill on January 1)
and diee, Jan. 18. at a Seattie
Hospital. Last September Mrs.
Ballinger visited relatives in lone.
Last week Harold Mason re
ceived a badly strained ankle
when his horse fell on him. Fri
day night he departed for Port
land to enter the veteran's hospit
al for treatment for the injury.
Mr. and Mrs. Dean Engelman
are the parents of a baby glr!,
born January 1. The little lady
has been given the name cf Lola
Belle.

The occasion was the thirty-fifth
wedding anniversary of Mr. and
Mrs. Engelman. The surprise was
complete. Mr. Engelman knew,
