The marriage of Miss Deb rah
Anne Uanttad and Mr. McKlnley
Stevent was solemnized on Friday,
May 31 at the home of Mr. J. W.
Schleevolght. at Morgan. The
marriage service was read by the
Rev. W. W. Head, pastor of the
Congregational Church at lone.
Those who witnessed the simple
but solemn ceremony were: Mr.
and Mrs Schleevolght. Matilda
Johnson, Mr. and Mrs W. A.
Hart field and two sons, Elwood
and Harold, Mr. and Mrs. P. C
Peterson, Mrs J Y. Gibson and
son Ralph, and Mr. Arthur Cogs
well. A sumptions wedding dinner
was served at high noon and not
long after the the happy couple
took the r departure.

ARTHUR PETTEYS DIES
Arthur Pettdyi, aiied 21 jearg,
died Sunday, June 2. in a hospit-

services were held Tuesday after
noon. Arthur was born at lone
and is the son of Albert Petteys
uf this place and Mrs. Mary Pief
erof Walla. Besides hin father
and wother h leavea to mourn
hia loan, a brother, Gilbert, many
other relatives and many griends
Abont four weeks ago Arthur
was taken ill here at the home
of his aunt, Mrs. Chas Nord. His
mother moved him to Walla Wa
I where he underwent a major
0 eration. He was given the best
01 care but they could not save
him. When his physician thonght
a blood transfusion necessary,
hia father went at once to the
hospital and gave a pint and
half of hia plood.
Hia father spent the last night
with him and his mother was at
his side before the end came at
5:15 o'clock, Sunday morning.
Many relatives from hare drove
to Walla Walla. Tueiday to at
tsnd the funeral services.
