The annual convention of the
Christian Kndeavor societies In
eluded In District No. 17, Colum
tia Union, was held at Freewater
Friday, Saturday and Sunday of
last week. Strong delegations
were in attendance from LexinR
ton and Heppner but lone's sole
reprcsetative was the pa9tor of
the Congreitational church.
The attendanco was large and
the spirit very fine. The meetings
were held in the commodious aud
itorium and parlors of the Feder
ated church of which Rev. Mr.
Nourse is paator. A very efficient
member of the committee of ar
rangements was Ming Beryl Mur
ray formerly of lone an J now a
member of the senior clung of
the Milton high school, tier sister
Faye was onsof a group of young
girls who assistd in the table ecr
vice with a grace and courtesy
that were beyond praise.
It was voted to hold the next
convention at Heppner.
The floor of the auditorium at
the Christian church is being
painted ths week,
the next regular muting of the
Willow Branch Union of C. E.
will be hel l in lone, Tuesday,
