United States Senator Robert
N. Stanfield, as chairman of the
committee on publiclands, has
acored a big victory for Oregon
and the West by obtaining gov
ern mental approval oflhe revUed
draft of his bill to put the live
stock indui try on a sound and per
rtianent baais. This bi.l provides
for unsalaried grazing boards,
componed of three members of
each grazing d istrict and fleeted
bv the livestock raisers using the
lands.
Of monies received 10 per cent
is set aside for ranue Improve
ments and 25 percent for the
benefit of public schools and and
public roads.
Fecretary Work, of the Interior
Department, has written Senator
