THE AMErTcAN FLA
When Freedom from her moun
tain heijjit
Unfurled her standard to ihe air.
She tore The azure robe of night
And set the stars of iflory there.
She mingled with its gorgeou
dyes
The milky baldric of the skies.
And strid its pure, celestial
whit-.
With streaking of the mornint
light;
Then from his mansion in the sin
She called her eatrle bearer down
And gave into his mighty hand,
The symbol of her chosen land.
Flagr of the seas! on ocean wave
Thy stars shall glitter o'er the
brave;
When death, careering on the
gale,
Sweeps darkly round the bellier
sail,
And 1 righted waves rush wild!)
back
Before the broadside's reeling
rack,
Each dying wanderer of the s
Sha I look at once to heaven am
thee.
And mile to see thy splendors fly
In triumph o'er his cbsing eye.
Flag of the free heart's hope anc
home!
By angel hands to valor given;
Thy stars have lit the welkin
dome,
And all tny hues were born In
heaven.
Forever float that stndard sheet!
Where breathes the fee but falls
before us,
With Freedom's soil beneath out
feet,
And freedom.s banner streaming
o'er us.

TELL THE WORLD
Under io other government ir

With 16.337.605 electiic light

phone?, 9.000.000 phonographs,
and 3.500,000. 110.000,000.000
Americans enjoy more of the
trodrn conveniences than the peo
pits of all other countries. What
we consider necesities here are
usually classed as luxuries by
the rest of the world.
It U not just by chance that
America has such things in the
largest quantities for common
use. It is here and here only that
the individual enjoys the great
est freedom for developing loVa
energy, ambition and initiative
The result has been a growth
unparalleled in the world's histo
ry. The best program yet offer
ed by a Socialist or Communist
leader not only fails to add any
thing to the advantages and free
dom under which American have
lived for some hundred and fifty
years, but it actually reduces in
a large measure the librties and
protection guaranteed to rich and
poor alike by our constitution.
Every citizen should appreciate
these facts. We should present
them whenever possible to coun
teract spurious prop sals which if
not defeated can undermine the
Btrogest govermental structure
which exists today.
