Local Garage Does
Large Business
Probably there are few towns
the size of lone in Eastern Ore
gon that can boast of a garage
that has developed the volume
of business in 1923 as has the In
dependent garage of this city,
owned by E. K. Lundell. During
that year, Mr. Lundell sold from
his gas pump 47,652 gallons of
gas, or four and one-half tank
cars of oil of 10.000 gal. capacity.
Besides this, 3,300 gallons of
lubricator oil was sold. Eighteen
new Fords, Stars and trucks and
three Studebaker cars were sold.
His total amount of business for
the year 1923 was $43,609.61.
This is a most remarkable show
ing of business and speaks well
of the progressive, honest, and
square dealing methods ot Mr.
Lundell, anil also demonstrates
the fact that such a business in
lone is a credit to the town and
country adjacent.

Death of Mrs. Ivy Nolan
Mrs. Ivy Nolan, aged 47-years,
wife of W. E. Nolan, of Rhi-a
creek, sister of Mrs. H. J. Biddle
of lone, died suddenly of apo
plexy Monday morning. Besides
her husband she is survived by
six children. The' family came
to Oregon from Idaho about two
