Base Ball Meeting
All base ball fans are request
ed to meet at Legion hall Sunday
afternoon, Jan. 27th at 2:30 p.
m., for the purpose of making
arrangements for the base ball
season.
One of the main matters to be
taken up will be the construction
of new seats, and a3 that expense
will depend upon public subscrip
tions, you are asked to have your
mind made up as to how much
you will donate for such work.
The Icne base ball team has al
ready been a good drawing card
for the business men of lone,
and you must not expect the boys
to do the playing and pay the
bills, so let every live wire of
Line turn out and show the boys
that you are willing to help them
keep lone out of the rut.
Every ball player should report
at this time so that we will know
what material we will have to
pick a winning team from.
Bert Mason, Manager.

The Bonus And Taxation
Secretary Mellon has laid a defi
nite program before the country
to reduce the incomi: tax bill over
$.'500,000,000 but if bonus lt-pislu-
tion is passed this reduction
not be made, but an inereiis.
be necessary.
If a bonus measure is passed,
the ex soldiers who are now be
comir g business men, would thru
increased taxation, h'lve to pay
a large percentage of the bonus
they receive. The candidate who
cries tax reduction in one breath
and then advocates various bur
densome obligations in the next
breath, is simply fooling the
people. Injured veterans should
receive every consideration from
the government such compen
sation should not be confused
with the bonus.
