Trimble, son of C, F. Trimble, pastor of tha Christian church, ar rived from hia home at Oakland, Cel., on Friday for a visit with tha fam ily. Ha expected to visit them at Dallas, but found on his arrival there that they had departed tha day before for Heppner, ao he followed up. Mr. Trimble holda a position with the Chevrolet assembling plant in Oak land, and after visiting here for a week or so will return to his work. Chas. Oaten returned the end of tha week from a visit of several weeks at Tacoma, Seattle and Portland. His daughters reaide in the Washington eities and hia son lives in Portland. While at Portland, Mr. Osten also took in tha big stock show. Tha ladiea of the Methodist Com munity church will hold their bazaar December 13th in the parlors of the church. C. and family drove down to Boardman, where Mra. Calkina and tha boya remained, and on Tuesday they drove on to Corvallis for a abort visit at their old borne. Mr. and Mra. Harold Cohn returned from Ellensburg, Wh., on Sunday, where they were called during the past week to attend the funeral of Mrs. Cohn'a father, Mr. Ames, whose death occurred at his home in that city early last week. Mr. and Mrs. Ed Hund, Sanford can yon residents, were doing business in the city on Saturday. They report plenty of rain and aome anow out their way, all of which ia helping out the moisture content of tha soil a lot. (, . - A tiny baby daughter waa born to Mr. and Mrs. P. M. Gemmell at the Aiken maternity home on Sunday, No vember 23rd, its weight' being 8tt pounds. Both mother and child are doing well. Mr. and Mrs. 1. S. Carter were down from their mountain home on Friday. They report very wet weather in the foothilla and the roads leading to town are pretty heavy aa a conse auence. Mat Halvorsen, extensive farmer of lone, waa a visitor here on Monday and reports that plenty of rain has been the portion of his part of tha county during the past ten days. Peck was doing business at Heppner on Monday from his home near Lexington. He had just return ed from a visit to Portland during the past week. A baby daughter was born to Mr. and Mra. R. W. Lowry at the mater nity home of Mrs. G. C Aiken on Saturday, November 22nd. C. F. Trimble and family will oc cupy the Case residence, Mr. Case and family moving into the rooms over the furniture store. ' Mrs. S. E.
