OUR old friend W. B. Ewing is run
nine for con ere 33 down in the
first district. His home is at Oak
land, on a ranch for which he traded
a bunch of good Morrow county alfal
fa land, after having redeemed it
from the desert in a better than 40
years residence in Morrow county.
Mr. Ewing will try to get the nom
ination at the hands of the demo
crats, and should he succeed he will
go up against W. C. Hawley, present
congressman from that district, and
receive another disappointment that
may in a measure equal the one he
received on the land trade. When
a man swaps good Morrow county
alfalfa fields for the wood and grass
hills of Douglas county, he is sure
going to be disappointed and may
try to seek consolation in running for
office. A part of Billy's platform
reads: "Congress should regulate the
volume of money in circulation, and
keep such per capita uniform and un
changeable so that prices cannot be
influenced by contraction or infla
