Former Heppner Man
Marries Idaho Woman
The following newa item from the
Salmon Herald, of Salmon, Idaho, un
der date of January 6th, is of in
terest to many of our Heppner read
ers, as the bridegroom, Dee Matlock,
was formerly a well-known resident
here:
At the coiy home of Mrs. Jessie
Daniels on Lena street Sunday after
noon, this estmiable lady was united
in marriage to Mr. Dee Matlock, also
of Salmon. The ceremony was per
formed at four o'clock by Rev. C. A.
Hawley of the Presbyterian church
in the presence of a jolly group of
friends of the contracting parties.
After the vows were spoken and con
gratulations had been extended, the
guests sat down to a sumptuous wed
ding dinner. The guests were Rev.
and Mrs. Hawley, Mr. and Mrs. John
W. Kadleti, Mr. and Mrs. Fred J.
Brough, Mrs. Slater, Mrs. Ivia Jop
ling, Mrs. Evelyn Melvin, Mrs. R. M.
Moore, Mrs. D. B. Thrasher, Dr. Han
mer, Fred White, Jas. Taylor and E.
G. Hettinger.
In the evening AUie White's or
chestra called at the Matlock home
and played a delightful concert; and
later in the evening eight ladies of
the Presbyterian church came and
sang beneath the window of the new
lyweds. These were invited in, and
the vocal concert was prolonged in
the house. AU the musicians were
treated abundantly with ice cream
and cake. A host of children of the
neighborhood called with their cus
tomary diabolical demonstration and
these were not only served with can
dy, but a carte blanc order was given
by Mr. Matlock to admit them, one
and all, at the Rex theater that eve
ning; and so the kids had a good
time as well as the adults.

The entertainment was free, and
