THIS newspaper has published reg
ularly the weekly bulletins of C. E.
Spence, the state market agent, when
ever they were worth publishing
and some times when they were not.
But our readers must have noted that
most of the ''bui.etins" were rehash
of the same old stulf that Spence has
been spouting for years. Aside from
his advocacy of co-operation. It is
doubtiui if he has made a single con
structive move as state market agent
and it is still more doubtful that
he ever will. Ten years or more he
has been urging the same old plati
tudes upon his hearers yet condi
tions are worse than ever. Public of
fice confers neither political nor eco
nomic wisdom, yet that is the very
thing that much of the public and
some of the press seem to believe the
state market agent has nothing else

high at $3000 a year. Most any news
paper man would write the stuff at
$2 or $3 a column. It's state market
