HOMEY THiLOSOPHY FOR 1923.
ONCE there was a wise boy. He was
wise, not foolish, because he
bought a car, and wiser still because
be used it. Whenever he got into a
jam he'd go into the garage and take
a lorg look at that flivver. And his
eves would fix themselves on the
shock-absorbers. He'd paid about $20
for them. When he first drove tha
car he found out he'd better dodge
the bumps and soften those he could
n't dodge.
Nowadays he sees that life is just
a village roadway calling for im
provements, and not a very long road
way either. A little cautious driving
and we can reach the end without
much shaking up. Then we can go
into neutrai without worrying.

Methusaleh Says:
0NSIDER the squirrel, Ohy my son,
and be wise. For when the sun shines,
then doth he gather the fruit of the
nut trees. But when the trees cease
to bear fruit and snow covers the ground, then
doth the squirrel feast on the nuts he hath stor
ed against the cold days.
If thou would be wise and farseeing, get thy
self a Bank Book and use it frequently. Be pre
pared for the Rainy Day; for when it rains it
doth pour. But thy Bank Book will protect thee
and thou will be blest amongst men.
