CLOTHING PRICES DROPI-SUIT FOR 15C
Mm fm
The high price of clothing Is largely responsible for the manu
facture of a Dumber of paper articles imported from Austria and Ger
many. Chief among these Is an all-paper suit that retails at the nom
inal sum of 16 cents.
These articles have become popular in parts of Europe, especially
where clothing is worn more for service than appearance. Table
cloths, rugs, etc., are also among the paper articles. The design an
color Is similar to those nw In use.

Alfalfa Cheapest and Itest.
"The dairy cow for maximum prof
itable production must have a liberal
amount of protein. One of the cheap
est and best sources is alfalfa hay.
Experienced dairymen everywhere
recognize Its value and feed large
j amounts of it even in places far dis
tant from point of production.
"This adds expense of handling,
baling, freight and commission or
selling costs to the cost of the hay
where it is grown. Even with these
added costs it Is still the cheapest
feed they can-buy, and the handicap
does not force them out of the busi
ness. Cow Change Hay to Milk.
"Dairying Is a manufacturing en-
i terprise with the cow converting raw
i material hay into concentrated
product milk. The nearer the plant
Is to the source of materials Bupply,
the greater opportunity for profit.
"Alfalfa thrives luxuriantly in the
irrigated regions, and corn, or sun

and provides succulence of an Ideal

"Alfalfa hay and silage make a
dairy ration second to none, and with
them grain feeding is reduced to a
minimum."

The experimental department
on agriculture has decided that
the hot swelter-hours put In over
a cookstove at canning time are
soon to be forgotten. Science
sayi that fruit can successfully
be stored for months by freezing
as low as ten degrees Fahrenheit
or higher up to thirty-two and
stored In a temparture equally
low. The picture shows results of
a three-month freezing test re
cently made, which proved more
economical and generally more
satisfactory than the old boiling
methods.
