More Mule Rwordu Broken.
A pair of mules were recently sold
for $15511 at auction. Within a few
days the same mules were sold to an
other party at a handsome profit.
Good, big, rugged mules with plenty
of meat on them are selling for con
siderably more than $1,000 a pair.
In fact, $1000 teams are getting to
be quite common. A big mule dealer
recently stated that in his opinion
the best mules would be averaging
$1500 a pair within the next year.
These high prices m ill be a surprise
to those who thought the horse and
male market would soon be a thing
of the past. Mule buyers are can
vassing the country everywhere for
all kinds of mules. Those who have
not kept up with the mule market
will be very much surprised. Plen
ty of mule colts have brought more
than $200 each. The owners of good
jacks must get this Information to
their customers some way before the
breeding season starts. The mule
business promises to be very profit
able. In nearly every case mules are
the first to Increase In price. Good
horses soon follow In value. Just as
soon as the mare owners wake up
they will want more mule colts.
Then those Iwho can see far enough
ahead will want some good mares to
raise mules from The American
Breeder.

Florence Hart, who plays the Bis

been on the screen less than six
months. She has appeared in many
Uroadiway dramatic successes, and
last August, while playing in New

deep gutteral laugh so effectively us
ed by the scheming screen villain.
Reynolds is building himself a hand
some new home In the foot hills near
Laurel Canyon, Hollywood. During
the "shooting" of the final scenes in
"Bullet Proof," the director Iwas so
busy with the picture and watching
the growth of his new home that it
was hard to tell, on seeing him work
ing with pencil and paper, whether
he iwas evolving some snappy comedy
business or was figuring on the soar
ing cost of nails and lumber. How
ever, the rent man will soon go out
of his life forever.

Universal City to begin work. Then
he called up the maid to repeat his
instructions.
"Give the children their bath after
lunch," he said, "and no before
lunch."
"Say, when do you bathe a kid
anyway?" he asked another married
man standing near the telephone.
The director shifted all the re

call up the doctor and get expert ad
