Oscar Keithley, Eight Mile farmer
who has charge of some of the road
work in that section was in Heppner
Saturday and reports that he has
done some extensive work there
this past spring. With the use of a
grader, the road has been rounded
up, and Is now well drained and has
packed down fine. Mr. Keithley is
an advocate of the split-log drag and
firmly believes in dragging the roads
at proper intervals. Simple methods
will make for better roads in Mor
row county, is his belief and he
knows from his own experience that
such work as he advocates does not
mean the expenditure of a very large
amount of money, which he thinks
is worthy of consideration at this
time, when we are straining our every
effort te win the war. Mr. Keithley
says the recent rain did a world of
good and the grain is now fairly
jumping out of the ground.
