The following list of real property
situated In Morrow County, Oregon,
Is hereby advertised for the year
1916. This advertisement is author
ized by the General Laws of Oregon
as passed by the 1917 Session of the
Legislative Assembly.
The taxes en the following adver
tised list of real property became de
linquent on November 6th, 1917 and
are subject to a penalty of five per
cent and interest at the rata ofl2
per cent per annum until said taxes
shall have been paid.
Notice is hereby given that six
months after the taxes charged again
st the following real prooerty first be
came delinquent the sheriff is requir
ed by law to issue Certificates of De
linquency against the said property
for delinquent taxes. The said Cer
tlflcates of Delinquency shall bear in
terest at the rate of 12 per cent per
annum until the Certificates are re
deemed.
Any time after the expiration of
three years from the first date of de
linquency of any tax included in a
certificate of delinquency the holder
ot such certificate may cause sum
mons to be served on the owner of
the property described in the Certi
ficate, notifying the owner that he
will apply to the Circuit Court of the
County in which such property is
situated for a decree foreclosing the
lien against the property mentioned
in each certificate.

LIVE CECIL NEWS ITEMS
Mr. and Mrs. Everett Logan from
the Willows were visiting friends in
and around Cecil on Monday.
John Kelley moved his sheep to the
Deos ranch Tuesday after feeding all
the hay which he had purchased ear
lier In the season near Cecil.
The ' Rev. George B. Van Waters
gave his usual monthly address In '
the Cecil Hall on Wednesday evening.
After the service short talks were
made by Mrs. Lena Snell Shurte,
county school superintendent, F. R.
Brown, county agent, and Mr. O'
Reiley of O. A. C, which were great
ly enjoyed by all those present.
Mrs. Peter Nash received severe
bruises and a deep cut in her fore
head last Wednesday, as a result of
an accident which happned while she
was on her way to Cecil, in company
with Mr. and Mrs. Cldye Franklin in
the Franklin car. While crossing an ,
irrigating ditch, the car came in vio
lent contact with the box, Mrs. Nash
being thrown against the top of the
car. Dr. Chick was called and dress
ed the wound.
Mrs. Oney came down from epp-
ner to assist Mrs. Jefferson on the
lower Minor ranch.
Mr. and Mrs. T. M. May from Was
co, arrived in Cecil on Thursday.
Mr. May brought a carload of cattle
and horses, implements and other
farm machinery, and is starting far
ming on the old Pierce place, which
ha bought sometime ago.
Mr. and Hrs. Flowers and family,
accompanied by Mrs. J. J. Allyn, vi
sited friends in Cecil on Thursday.
Mrs. Hannah Ahalt returned from
Sherwood on Thursday, where she
had been visiting her sister.
George Currin, accompanied by
Mr. Baldock, one of the state high
way engineers, came down from Hep
pner last week on business.
Ed Reitmann and Miss Juanita
Crabtree took in the Elk's Ball at
lone Friday.
Fay Mettie from Ukiah came to x
work for Jack Hynd on the Butterby
Flats.
Miss Louise Shaw, who has been
spending the last two weeks at Sand
Hollow, returned home Friday.
Mesdames Bennett, Ahalt, Forkner
and Nash visited with Grandma Nash
on Friday. ,
Mrs. Shurte, accompanied by Mr.
Brown and Mr. O'Reiley, spent a very
pleasant morning is the Cecil school
with teacher and pupils Thursday.
Ar,t Minor arrived in "The Last
Camp" on Saturday from Portland,
proceeding later in the day to Hepp
ner. Mr. Flnley returned to lone on Sat
urday after spending the last two
weeks on the Butterby Flats, building
sheep sheds and other buildings for
Jack Hynd.
John Ewine of Portland is the
guest of Jack Hynd on the Butterby
Flats for the coming week.
W. G. Hynd and F. Corbett from
Rose Lawn, Sand Hollow, autoed over
to Cecil for the dance Saturday night.
J. H. Franklin of Pendleton Is a
guest at the Jack Hynd home.
A. Henriksen and son Clifford re
turned from Heppner Friday, accom
panied by Herbert Hynd.
