(Pilot Rock Retard) ' "T"?
State Engineer M. O. Bennett and
his crew of men, wko have finished '
their survey of the Pilot Rock-Pen-'
dleton road, arrived in Pilot Roekj
yesterday morning to begin the sur-1
vey of the Pilot Rock-Hep purr road, '
which they wiU carry from Pilot Rock !
to the Morrow county line, la speak- j
ing of the provisions of the proposed
bonding act, Mr. Bennett says that he
has discovered many people laboring
under Wrong impressions concerning
the work the county will have to do
in preparing the roads for hard sur-'
facing. Many seem to have the idea
that the county will have to lay
crushed rock or gravel over the road
in the same manner a street is pre
pared for paving, while this is in fact
erroneous. All. that is required' of
the county Is that the road be proper
ly laid out, properly crowned and
drained. It is bis opinion that a
large portion of the roads In this
county can be prepared for paving at
$1000 per mile. ,
