Would Be Glad to Bee Better
Weather.
David Hynd was In town Satur
day from the sheep ranch of Hynd
Brothers In Sand Hollow. He states-
that all their stock has come thru
the winter in splendid condition,
plenty of feed and good care are res
ponsible. The winter has not been
a severe one, yet the present cold
and unsettled weather is not propi
tious for lambing and shearing, the
season for which is fast approaching
and Mr. Hynd would be glad to see
it turn warmer. The range would
then begin to' improve and the danger
ot loss of both lambs and shorn sheep
would be greatly lessened.

Arrangements now being made
mean that 2,000 horses which hereto
fore have drawn touring stage coach
es through Yellowstone National
Park will be sold for use In Euro
pean armies' and their places taken
during the coming summer by auto
mobiles. Under the plans now being
worked out there will hereafter be
three companies Instead of seven con
trolling hotels, camps and tours of
the famous park.
Under this scheme the hotels will
be under one management, the camp
ing outfits under another, and the
staging in, the past operated by four
Systems will have one head. The
change will remove one of the
picturesque features of the Yellow
stone tour but at the same time will
facilitate the trip thru Geyserland.
The change is made at an opportune
time from a pecuniary viewpoint, as
the horses that will go to the Euro
pean fighting governments will bring
the highest prices.
The former arrangement caused a
multiplicity of service that was some
what confusing to the public. Un
der the new deal the general public
service will be brought to a high
standard of efficiency which will
mean that, the park, with its great
natural wonders, will be more easily
viewed than before. Under the new
management, Howard H. Hays, who
has had charge of numerous camping
outfits dictated by the government,
will be the general tours agent for
the Chicago, Union Pacific, North
western Tours.

CASE FURNITURE COMPANY
One of the most gratifying evi
dences of returning prosperity is the
very heavy traffic over the lines of the
Oregon-Washington Railroad & Navi
gation Company, which is making It
necessary to re-lay its rails over the
Blue Mountains with hundred-pound
steel. At present ninety-pound steel
is used, but the heavy volume of traf
fic finds these rails Insufficient for
the strain.
These rails will be the heaviest
used by any railroad in the West, and
the total cost will approach close to
a half million dollars.
The first unit of the work will
comprise about thirty miles. Other
units will be undertaken as circum
stances warrant.

BUICK DESIGN
BUICK VALVE-IN-HEAD POWER
The lightness of the Buick Valve-in lead motor and
not the enthusiasm of its salesmen has made the Buick
conspicuous for leadership.
This new four has a Buick Valve-in-Eead motor (with
electric starter) which develops thirty-five horse power
on brake test and is so reliable for ruggtd service that no
eulogy is necessary among "men who know Buick."
I lines are beautiful.. Finish and color are exception
al Deep, tufted black genuine leather upholstery. Cov
ered floor and running board, with aluminum bindings,
give a trimness of appearance that is peculiarly Buick.
Body, hood, feeders and running gear are painted a
glossy, long-wr jing black; wheels are black with white
stripes. Tires 31x4 inches.
