Straw Vote Here Gives Hughes A Big
Jjead.
Gurdane & Son conducted a straw
vote the past week for the committee
carrying on the fight to abolish the
present Sunday closing law. The re
sult of the vote showed 91 in favor
of repealing the old law and 29 a
galnst. The vote for president is of
iterest inasmuch as it shows a strong
Hughes sentiment in spite of the fact
that the Democrats have been claim
ing everything in sight for Wilson
there being 78 votes cast for Hughes
and 41 for Wilson.

self, he made the remark that he had

68 years. Mr. Minor is just 68 years
old, so it easy to arrive at the number
of cigarettes he has smoked up to the
