Alfred E. Anderson, who is now
farming the Noah Clark ranch on
Eight Mile was in the city Monday
after a load of grain bags.
Loy M. Turner, county surveyor,
left Heppner Saturday mflring in his
car for Baker, where he will visit
with friends for a few weeks.
H. L. Stanfield and Allen Thomp
on of Stanfield were in Heppner Mon
day. Mr. Stanfield owns extensive
property interests on Rhea creek.
Alva Jones, who was in the city
Sunday from his, Heppner Flat ranch
announces that he will soon begin the
harvest of a 25 bushel wheat crop.
Sam H. Holgate, who renently sold
his interest in the lone Meat Market
to Frank Hall of this city, was in
Heppner the early part of the week.
W. O. Sullivan and wife of Morgan
were Sunday visitors in Heppner.
Mr. O'Sullivan is a farmer of the
Morgan section and in times past has
done considerable hay baling.
W. B. Barratt, president of the
Oregon Wool Growers Association,
went to Portland Sunday to attend
the supreme and grand lodge conven
tions of the Knights of Pythias.
Henry Cohn willjeave Saturday for
Lehman Springs for a two weeks va
cation. His brother Harold contem
plates an auto trip into the Crater
Lake country in the near future.
Asa B. Thompson and wife and
daughter Elna of Echo were guests
at the S. W. Spencer camp on upper
Willow creek last Sunday. Thou.

Miss Bernice Githeus, daughter of

turned Sunday from an extended visit

visited with relatives.
Glenn Y. Wells, district Attorney,
accompanied by Mrs. Wells and her
mother, left Heppner last week in
their car for Elgin and other Union
county towns to visit and enjoy an
outing of several weeks.
Creston Maddock, day clerk at the
Palace hotel, visited with friends in

trip down and back with Bob Young
in the latter's Ford. They had their
first experience in patching a punct
ure in absolute darkness.
