The Heppner Cornet Band lias or
dered $20 worth of new music and
will shortly regale our people with
new tunes.
Pell Simi3on killed a cougar meas
uring 8 fet and 2 inces from tip to
tip, near his ranch at the mouth of
Skookum creek a week ago last Mon
day. The animal succeeded in killing
a colt for Pell the Saturday before,
and wor.'.i have eluded his pursuers,
but he returned for another bait of
colt and met his fate.

Wm. Potter returned Tuesday from

with his parents. He reports five
new business buildings on the eve of
completion at that place. Hood
