favorable season. The high price
paid for coarse wool was 28 cents.
Less than 700,000 pounds were sold.

Canyon City News It Is surprising
the number of teams traveling on the
Heppner road. Heppner business
firms know the value of printer's ink
and by its use scoop in the trade.
Canyon City News If any change
is contemplated in the running time
of the Heppner-Canyon stage, we
don't know it, but have heard that
Mr. Keeney would give us mail in 3 b
hours from Portland.
From the Eagle Numerous com
plaints have been made relative to
Morrow county sheep destroying un
fenced range, and in soniff instances,
parties being absent from their
ranches,' on returning found their
own pastures eaten to the ground
These complaints come from the set
tlers along the Middle Fork from Su
sanville to the confluence of the
North Fork. Range never was better
back in the mountains and neighbors
from Morrow county should respect
the right of ranchers to their own
range. Grant county stockmen have
suffered a heavy loss owing to the
treatment from their neighbor stock
men but cannot help themselves un
less they resort to violent means to
prohibit their entrance,
An Ohio man committed suicide
because it was so hot, which leads
the Cincinnati Enquirer to remark
that he "may possibly discover that
he has Jumped from the frying pan
into the fire."

SCHOOL NOTES.
By Supt. S. E. Notson.
On June 17, I visited the school In
District No. 59. Miss Florence Plfer
Is the teacher. Eighteen pupils were
present. This school has a new heat
ing and ventilating plant, which was
not needed very badly on that date,
it being one of-those "rare" June
days. The pupils are doing good work
under the direction of Miss Plfer.
In District No. 56, Mrs. Margaret
Cramer is at the helm. The enroll
ment is seven. The flag was flying
from a new flag-pole the date of my
visit. New adjustable canvas shades
have been purchased for the win
dows, and they are proving very sat
isfactory. This school Is situated in
a most delightful place for a summer
school.
Miss Grace Stamp teaches in Dis
trict No. 7, and the enrollment is
seven. This is strictly a boys' school.
A new globe and a new dictionary
have been provided recently. This
school has a school garden. This
school is also pleasantly situated for
a summer school.
In District No. 51, Mrs. Harriet M.
Stephens is at the desk. The enroll
ment of this school is 32. The
grounds are in excellent condition,
and the pupils know how to make
good use of the grounds at intermiss
ions. A new teacher'B desk has been
lately added to the equipment. New
canvas shades have been provided
also. I also noted a new dictionary.
Pupils should keep in mind the
fact that the county fair is coming,
and each one should make an effort
to have some kind of an exhibit. Let
us determine to do our very best.
Then we will have an excellent ex
hibit, and the effort we make will be
worth while.

Jones
Weeder
'Made in Morrow County"
(Patented Dec. 16, 1913.)
Summerfallowing Is being done earlier this year than common.
Weeds will come earlier and there will be more of them. Get after
them early before they ruin your Summerfallow. The JONES
WEEDEK is the best and most speedy weeder ever built for that
purpose. Built in sections like a harrow; each section cuts Ave
feet and you can use as many sections as you want. The knives
have a slope of 60 degrees and will not choke under normal con
ditions. This weeder has been tried out on the same field with other
weeders and has done more satisfactory work. The JON ES WEED
F.R has been fully tested. Ask a farmer who uses one. For further
particulars, prices, etc., write
