VANCOUVER, Wash. The Murphy Tim
ber Company Is now cutting 20 carloads of
logs dally for the Portland markets. Fifty
men are employed by the concern.
Big Timber Pnrchaae.
SPOKANE, Wash. The Schofield Timber
Company has purchased 30,000,000 feet of
timber, which, added to tbe 40,000,000 feet
they already own, makes a splendid holding
in this territory. The timber cutting will
be started at once, and the contract pro
vides that all of It must be taken from the
land within Jt years.
