Swine husbandry is au industry in the Northwest that i3 growing rapidly but hardly too
rapidly. There have been few tendencies towards reduced prices despite the unusual increase in
hog numbers in the last year or two. Hogs are popularly known as "mortgage lifters." They well
deserve that title. Hogs show, perhaps, a greater percentage of profit than can be obtained from
other animals raised. Up to recent years they have been comparatively free from disease in the
Northwestern states.
