This is not true. If the manufacturer could have people come to his fac tory and buy there, he could not even then give good value be cause of the poor quality of material and inferior workmanship. To the original cost of the garment, the manufacturer must pay traveling salesmen's expenses and the retailer adds another profit of about 40 per cent. The original "quality price" is thereby lost and the price is higher than that of a carefully merchant tailored suit made here. There are a great many men in this town who are proud to say we make their clothes. THEY KNOW WHY- I have the exclusive agency in Morrow county for the Famous Detmer Woolen Co.'s guaranteed all pure wool. First Meetin? In Two Months Water Bonds Paid. The City Council met on Mon day evening after having failed to get together for a couple of months. As a consequence there was an accumulation of bills against the city, but little other business to claim the attention of the council. In the absence of Mayor Van Vactor, W. O. Minor, chairman of the Council, presided, and there were present beside him councilmen Barratt, Kirk and CJurrin. A petition asking the council to vacate a portion of the street and public road, and to re-establish the public road on new lines just east of the new school build ing in Day's Addition, was sub mitted to the council, and after due consideration the same was granted. This will vacate a por tion of the east end of Baltimore street and change the present road and make it run farther up on the hill toward the old school bu;lding. Beginning at a point nut far from the mill, the road can be made to run around the point of the schoolhouse hill on a three per cent grade, and its re location will be an improvement. It was really made necessary by the location of the new school building. A similar net.ition was alsODre- sented asking that Sterling, Clark and Huggms streets lying in Shipley's Addition be vacated, and the prayer of the petitioners was granted, lhe erection oi the Farmers' warehouse, which will cover a large portion of this addition, made it necessary that these streets be vacated. TheO.-W. R. & N. Co. was erranted the right to construct and maintain a railroad track across Morgan street to connect its main line with the Farmers' warehouse.
