"How is it?" asked! an Englishman
of an American friend, "that the
Yankees get on well in business,
while many Englishmen fail?"
"Brains, my boy!" was the reply.
"You should eat more fish. Give me
five dollars and I'll gPt you some of
the fish that my wife gets for n;e.
Eat it and see how you get on."
The Englishman parted with hi
five dollars and the fish was sent to
him. Next day lie met the Yanlc
again. "How did you get on?'; tho
ankee asked.
"Well, it was splendid fish!"
"Do you feel any different?"
"No, I can't say I feel any differ
ent," said the Englishman, "but five
dollars was a lot to pay for a piece
of fish, wasn't it?"
There you are!" said the Yank.
