HEPPNER. OREGON
, , - ' & W J- A
E. G. Haverstick was in from Rhea
creek Friday driving the little old
Hudson car that has been his boon
companion for the past 11 years. Mr.
Hayerstick has a collection of license
plates on the car that he has' accu
mulated within the past few years
and says he i3 sorry he did not save
all of them since 1911. Thinks they
would be of some value now if only
for old metal. - The old car, Mr. Hav
erstick estimates, has carried him
more than 150,000 miles and six
years ago, while looking for a loca
tion, himself and wife drove it
3,000 miles through .Washington,
Oregon and Idaho within " three
months. Ho says even the Hudson
! people don't build any more such
cars as it, these days.
! F. XI. Broady, who lived for 17 years
in this county near Morgan, was in
town for a fewdays last week from
I Wallowa, where he has been residing
i for the past three years. Mr. Broady
i is engaged in the dairy and small
farm business at Wallowa and likes
i the country. It is a fine clmate in
j summer he says, and no worse than
plenty of other parts of the country
! in the winter time.
